The American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America, and Soil Science Society of America held its annual International Meeting last week in Long Beach, California. More than 4,000 scientists, porfessionals, educators, and students attend the meetings. Four Ohio State Horticulture and Crop Science graduate students won awards at the meeting.
Grace Bluck- First Place in M.S. Competition, Applied Soybean Research Community Graduate Student Oral Competition for her presentation "Effect of Pyraclostrobin Fungicide on Disease Pressure, Plant Health, and Soybean Grain Yield." There were eight students in the competition.
Aaron Brooker- First Place in M.S. Competition, SSSA Division: Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition Graduate Student Poster Competition for his poster "Correlation Between Soil Test Values and Plant Nutrient Concentrations". There were 22 students in the competition.
Matthew Hankinson- Second Place in M.S. Competition, SSSA Division: Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition Graduate Student Poster Competition for his poster "Effect of Starter Fertilizer on Soybean Growth, Nodulation, and Yield." There were 22 students in the competition.
Alex Lindsey- Second Place in Ph.D. Competition, SSSA Division: Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition Graduate Student Oral Competition for his presentation, "Drought Tolerant Corn Hybrid Response to Nitrogen Application Rate." Second Place in Ph.D. Competition, CSSA Crop Physiology and Metabolism for his presentation, "Physiological Response of a Drought Tolerant Hybrid to Plant Population and Irrigation."
